2020 ended the fashion as we know it?

When the country went into lockdown in March, I was a student struggling to find my own path, career, and destiny with a rotation of pajamas, man shirts with legging, and sweatpants. Which soon became the new "normal" as the world stayed home and dress codes gave way to easy comfort.
So, while I was looking for colleges as usual for me back then, it came to my clothing. I, like many more people, missed the freedom of getting dressed. even in my sleep-deprived state, I couldn't help but crave the confidence that came from a slick blazar, the drama of an evening dress, the sensuality of an off-shoulder blouse...you get the drift.
Headlines and memes celebrated the demise of constrictive fashion- the bra, skinny jeans, heels- and initially, most women that I followed on Instagram, ogled in magazines were okay in these unprecedented times (to use the year’s most unhackneyed phrase) for comfort to reign supreme.
Whether be out cycling, in birthday Zooms, or on conference calls with friends, legging/pajamas, loose cotton shirts did the trick.
It was life after years of following dress codes from schools to tuitions, I could breathe easy. After all, we had enough to worry about. Clothing wasn’t on the priority list. When your couch is your new classroom/office, how do you dress for that?
Lately, I have been following Vogues, Harper Bazaar, etc., I have noticed that many designers are choosing to go sustainable, choosing to answer these questions. After looking at Lakme Fashion Week, I realized many designers are springing new ideas about life, and how our world will be like after this pandemic is just a distant memory.
